The Chinese Studies major will give you the opportunity to develop skills in oral and written Chinese (Mandarin) as well as learn about Chinese culture and civilization. Studying Chinese language and culture will give you an advantage in industry. China has been Australia’s largest trading partner since 2007, and Chinese tourists have been the largest group of international visitors to Australia since 2018. Undertaking the Chinese Studies major will develop your “Asian Literacy”, and particularly your “Chinese Literacy”. As part of this major, you will have the opportunity to enrol in overseas programs to extend your language skills in country.
