The History minor lets you explore Europe, the Americas, Australasia, Asia, and the ancient and modern world. Learn about the relationship between social change, states and societies, and the effects of migration, wars, colonialism, post-colonialism, race and gender.
Our core and elective subjects cover some of the most urgent issues of both past and present societies, including slavery and human trafficking, civil rights, terrorism, genocide, religion and fundamentalism, food and the environment. You will also have the opportunity to learn from scholars with expertise in Indigenous histories in Australia and the Americas. You’ll engage critically with a range of historical sources and methods, including visual and popular culture, and gain mixed media skills producing new histories for the 21st century.
