To appraise and analyse theories related to the behaviour and mental health of the individual to rehabilitation counselling practice within a professional and ethical framework.

Apply a social ecological lens that recognises the various physical, psychological, familial, societal, and cultural influences on the causes and reactions to injuries and chronic conditions in order to facilitate positive rehabilitation outcomes.

Examine and apply research to inform a professional and ethical approach to rehabilitation practice and/or case management which promotes integration of the client within the community.

Critically analyse, synthesise, and evaluate available research and/or professional practice to develop practical and innovative solutions to contemporary issues in rehabilitation counselling and case management.

Appraise and apply person-centred theory and interpersonal or counselling skills to develop effective relationships with core stakeholders to enable individuals to achieve their desired rehabilitation outcomes.

Develop and apply evidence-based behaviour change skills to address salient issues relating to the prevention, treatment and management of psychological or physical injury, chronic conditions and disability in a variety of settings.
