On successful completion you will be able to:
1.
Use advanced bioinformatics techniques, including database searching, alignments, pattern analysis and predictive study to solve scientific problems. Acquire the ability to assess whether the application of advanced tools and scientific approaches are appropriate for a particular scientific problem in the field of Bioinformatics.
2.
Navigate and be familiar with various free web-based bioinformatics programs. Critically analyse and solve scientific problems in the field of Bioinformatics.
3.
Recognise critical issues and limitations in the current bioinformatics field and tools. Apply precise terminology and concepts to describe bioinformatics.
4.
Apply biostatistics to solve bioinformatic problems.

Prerequisites: Must be enrolled in one of the following courses: SMBB, SMBT, SMBM, SGBB, SMNT, SZHSN, SZHSMN, SZHSNT or SMDS All other students require coordinator approval
