Learning activities

Students research their chosen project topic under the guidance of their supervisor. They are expected to propose multiple solutions to a given problem and decide upon the best solution given a set of practical constraints. Students must then demonstrate good problem-solving skill and use appropriate tools to implement their proposed solution and overcoming technical challenges

Students submit a technical paper which sets out the necessary background knowledge, the scope and goals of their project and the method/s and results of their project.

At the end of the project students will present their project work to a group of their peers and to a group of supervising staff. This presentation describes the background to the project, the methods that were used, outcomes and recommendations for future work. This presentation forms part of the assessment. Students will submit a poster and a technical paper as well.

Students submit a reflection journal which sets out their self-reflection on personal learning outcomes.
