Subject intended learning outcomes

On successful completion you will be able to:
1.
Speak at an intermediate level on general and specific topics in advanced Japanese
2.
Read and write at an intermediate level, learn 96 new kanji and recognise a total of approximately 600 kanji.
3.
Participate in pair and group work both in and outside of lectures.
4.
Communicate using all for key areas of the target language: speaking, listening, reading and writing
5.
Gain a socio-linguistic and socio-cultural understanding of Japan.

Learning activities

Participate in individual and group work in tutorials and workshops, and complete various assessment. Engage with audio, visual, and written texts in both English and Japanese in both lectures and workshops.
