On successful completion you will be able to:
1.
Identify and critically discuss the functions of the main hardware components of computers.
2.
Differentiate between main types of computer networks and explain the purpose of major network components including any advantages and disadvantages of different data communication media.
3.
Describe and evaluate the main types of software, their roles, needs and functions
4.
Critically analyse simple problems in their field and develop a spreadsheets to model these problems.
5.
Design and construct basic web pages using HTML and style sheets to solve practical real-world problems
6.
Develop and interpret simple database tables, queries and reports to solve practical problems
