Overview

In this subject, you will prepare to undertake a practice-based placement, either in a relevant external organisation or agency, or internally at La Trobe University where participants will conduct approved tasks designed to achieve specific learning objectives relating to discipline specific practice. The aim of the subject is to give you an opportunity to consolidate knowledge gained and skills developed in years 1 and 2 of the course. You will further develop their knowledge of frameworks and theories relevant to their major, including how these translate to the field. Important workplace skills and expectations are covered to prepare you for your field placement in Semester 2 (PHE3PFP). You will gain familiarity with practical concerns of a work environment and gain a broad perspective about potential employment possibilities.

Requisite rules

Prerequisites: Must be enrolled in course HBHS or HBHSB (in Health Sustainability, Public Health, Health Promotion, Rehabilitation Counselling and Sports Counselling and Athlete Welfare majors) and must have passed 120 credit points in 2nd Year or 3rd Year subjects.
