COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EXPERIENCE

Overview

In this subject you will gain real world experience related to your chosen profession through a work integrated learning placement in a community based organisation. Placements are self-sourced by you and should relate to personal and/or professional skills you wish to develop to better prepare yourself for the remainder of your course and your future career in healthcare. You will reflect upon your placement experience through the development of a professional portfolio. The subject involves online resources, face-to-face orientation workshops, with the majority of time (100hours) spent off campus undertaking the placement. You are required to attend an information session during Semester 1 and complete relevant paperwork prior to commencement of placement.
