Subject intended learning outcomes

On successful completion you will be able to:

Assess influences from the language and culture of the Romans on today's world, particularly in regard to English and other modern European languages.
2.
Communicate with other students and explain the use of the grammatical and syntactical features of the language.
3.
Apply Latin grammar, vocabulary and cultural knowledge as required to respond to new situations in the language.
4.
Find, critically evaluate and manage information retrieved from dictionaries and grammar summaries to undertake synthesis at an introductory level.
5.
Write sentences and phrases in Latin relevant to Ancient Rome.
