On successful completion you will be able to:

Clearly differentiate professional from individual scope of practice and discuss the role of ethics in the provision of health care

Make clear, knowledgeable and well planned presentations individually and /or as part of a team and engage in peer review of other student presentations

Identify the historic, social and political context in which contemporary First Nations people live

Critically appraise the meaning of health as it relates to population oral health and explain the determinants of health, risk factors and behaviours that influence it

Explain the rationale and use of infection control policies and procedures as they relate to the pre-clinical and clinical environment

Demonstrate theoretical knowledge to support pre-clinical skills in conservative restorative dentistry, periodontics, radiography, impressions and local anaesthesia using a systematic and patient focused approach

Critically review the oral health assessment and care planning process, explain the importance of patient participation and informed consent
8.
Demonstrate a level of competence in the interpretation of clinical information to form a diagnosis with an associated care plan for a simulated patient
