Economic and financial analysis involves understanding and interpreting a vast amount of information. As an economist, or financial analyst, you need to be able to source the data relevant to advising, for example, on the economics of a business or the value of a company’s shares. You will need to be able to describe and present this information so that managers and investors can understand it. You will need to be able to draw inferences from your analysis of this information so managers and investors can make informed decisions. Moreover, you will need to be able to estimate forecasts for the economic and finance variables you are describing, so that managers and investors can consider the potential outcomes of decisions.
