Subject intended learning outcomes

On successful completion you will be able to:
1.
Synthesise graduate-entry competencies in the practice of health information management through supervised engagement in activities which build upon academic studies and previous placement and experiences.
2.
Analyse the processes for the collection and application of health information for clinical and other purposes at agency level.
3.
Critically reflect on current theory and practice and evaluate processes across health care agencies translating knowledge into new contexts.
4.
Integrate skills in project and time management including development and achievement of objectives, ability to work autonomously and to demonstrate initiative in work practice.
5.
Interrogate health data through extraction and analysis (including ICD-10-AM coding according to state and national protocols.)
6.
Collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and communicate appropriately using a wide range of mediums.
7.
Demonstrate high professional ethical standards and maintain awareness of the social and ethical implications of professional and personal activities.
