Subject intended learning outcomes

On successful completion you will be able to:

Examine the context and complexity of public policy work
2.
Examine the steps to successful public policy making, including issue analysis, policy options, the budget process, consultation and co-ordination
3.
Explore the crucial interaction between public servants and Ministers particularly in relation to the Budget and Expenditure Review Committee and the Public Accounts and Estimates Committees
4.
Develop public policy skills through practical exercises including the application of case studies and a 2-day simulation culminating in group presentations in Parliament House
