Subject intended learning outcomes

On successful completion you will be able to:
1.
Examine the major issues involved in the teaching of English language, literature and literacy in a primary school setting.
2.
Demonstrate understanding of current research and methodologies for teaching English literature, language and literacy in a digital multi-literate world.
3.
Analyse student work samples to demonstrate understanding of how assessment of student learning informs teaching.
4.
Design learning sequences that reflect understanding of curriculum content and pedagogy.
5.
Explain pedagogy for teaching English to learners for whom English is not their first language.

Learning activities

You will engage in a range of activities including lectures, workshops, online learning, quizzes, and problem based learning designed to achieve and assess your performance in alignment with the subject’s intended learning outcomes. You will receive timely feedback (formal and informal) about your performance on these activities to support your learning.
