PARTICIPATION ACROSS LIFESPAN

Overview

In this fully online subject you will explore how participation in areas and roles of social life change across the lifespan from infants through childhood and adolescence, to adulthood and older age. You will discover how participation in social life is necessary for human development, and how development is influenced by a wide range of contextual factors. In particular, you will focus on how personal and environmental factors such as cultural differences or familial situations influence and shape people to create diversity. The World Health Organisation - International Classification of Function, Disability and Health (WHO-ICF) will provide a framework to explore these factors. Through observation of case studies online you will also be taught how health professionals help clients to maximise participation in social life.
