Overview

In this subject, you will develop knowledge, understanding and experience of river environments in order to safely conduct effective outdoor environmental education experiences. Through lectures and fieldwork, you will apply place-based pedagogies, technical paddling and rescue skills, environmental interpretation, and group management skills to teach in river environments.

On successful completion you will be able to:

Develop environmental and cultural knowledge of river environments to inform place-based curriculum planning and safety

Demonstrate planning skills required for the delivery of safe educationally relevant activities and journeys in river environments
