Overview

Podiatrists are required to use clinical skills to manage a variety of foot and ankle conditions. In this subject, you will extend your clinical knowledge and skills to the management of patients with foot and ankle conditions requiring introductory podiatric care. Specifically, you will be introduced to the use of foot orthoses to manage foot and ankle conditions and consolidate knowledge regarding the management of common dermatological conditions. The concepts will be introduced in tutorials and consolidated by managing patients in the Health Sciences Clinic. Professional accreditation requires a minimum level of clinical exposure. Your attendance at professional placements will contribute to meeting this requirement for professional recognition as a podiatrist.
