Overview

This subject takes you through an in-depth analysis of contemporary and controversial topics in Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy. Final Year Master of Sports Physiotherapy students will form teams to deliver a Webinar to their fellow students on these selected topics in Sports Physiotherapy. You will critically analyse the topic and interview two opposing authors. Your questioning and webinar will include the latest research evidence and translation of research to clinical sports and exercise physiotherapy practice. Each topic will be studied in relation to epidemiology, clinical assessment, diagnosis, management / preventions and return to sports.

Critically assess current knowledge regarding the epidemiology, incidence and prevalence of different musculoskeletal injuries.

Investigate and apply current evidence, particularly that related to the causes and prevention of musculoskeletal pathologies across the lifecycle to develop a balanced and informed opinion.

Critically reflect on knowledge and clinical expertise to collaboratively develop evidence informed practice in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

Evaluate the effectiveness of musculoskeletal physiotherapy approaches.
