Subject intended learning outcomes

On successful completion you will be able to:

Express yourself fluently and spontaneously without much searching for expressions. You will be able to use language flexibly and effectively for almost all social and professional purposes.

Effectively scan texts in Spanish for relevant information, and grasp the main topic of texts. You will be able to read with ease virtually all forms of written Spanish, including abstract, structurally or linguistically complex texts.

Write well-organised, coherent texts in Spanish. You will demonstrate a knowledge of the style and content appropriate to different written tasks and will be able to present supported arguments. You will be able to produce proof-read texts with minimal errors and adhere to relevant conventions.

Demonstrate awareness of cultural issues in the Hispanic world.
