Honours is a fourth year of undergraduate study offered to students who demonstrate academic success and fulfilled the requirements of a Bachelors degree, with a major in a relevant discipline. The aim of the Honours program in the School of Agriculture, Biomedicine and Environment (SABE) is to provide undergraduate students the opportunity to gain first-class practical, field, and theoretical expertise in a major area of scientific study. Moreover, the program intends to impart undergraduate students with professional skills that extend their career opportunities.
Honours in Agriculture consists of a one year (full-time) or two years (part-time) individual research project, supervised by a SABE scientist whose research is in the disciplines of crop science and/or plant science. Students can commence either in February or July. Students should consult with potential supervisors during their final undergraduate year and will only be accepted into the subject with the written support from a willing supervisor. The School Honours co-ordinator will provide more information on the application process including a comprehensive list of available research projects.
AGR401C is the second or third subject of a 90CP research component for Honours in SABE. Students must take AGR401A first.
