Subject intended learning outcomes

On successful completion you will be able to:
1.
Describe physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional developmental milestones associated with infancy, early and middle childhood, and adolescence, and their implications for educational practice. 
2.
Describe how the human brain typically develops from infancy to late adolescence and differences associated with neurodiversity, and the implications for educational practice.
3.
Describe the influence of socio-cultural and other environmental factors on infant, child, and adolescent development, and the implications for educational practice. 
4.
Demonstrate an introductory understanding of the brain’s information processing and memory systems and their role in learning.

Learning activities
