Subject intended learning outcomes

On successful completion you will be able to:
1.
Demonstrate an ability to find and incorporate appropriate curriculum knowledge and scientific literacy associated with teaching science in schools through effective planning for teaching including the ability to access relevant science curriculum documents and apply them in planning for learning, and to select appropriate resources.
2.
Design science learning environments that are meaningful, engaging and safe for learners, and meet their learning needs.
3.
Develop science-specific assessment tasks of teaching and learning for a variety of diagnostic, formative, and summative purposes.
4.
Critically reflect on science learning in order to improve professional knowledge and professional skills for responsible futures.
5.
Access relevant science curriculum documents and apply them in planning for interdisciplinary learning.

You will engage in a range of activities including lectures, workshops, online learning, quizzes, and problem based learning designed to achieve and assess your performance in alignment with the subject’s intended learning outcomes.
