Overview

In this subject students examine the progression as children extend their connections from early learning towards formal schooling. Students will focus on the kindergarten year and the transition to the preparatory year for the child. The significance of transition as presented in the Early Years Learning Framework will be addressed.

Recognise transitional requirements from Kindergarten to School, acknowledging children's individual differences, temperaments and behaviour, working towards a notion of "readiness".

Explore the strategies used to promote partnerships between teachers, children and families.

Establish continuity of curriculum from the EYLF to the Australian curriculum to establish robust learning pathways for young children.
