Subject intended learning outcomes

On successful completion you will be able to:
1.
Analyse educational theories, frameworks and policies, specifically those that relate to the application of digital literacies in secondary school environments.
2.
Examine trends in digital literacies and their deployment in education and society at large, embedding considerations of the capabilities and cross-curricula priorities.
3.
Demonstrate and apply practical skills in designing digital technology tools and innovations for effective engagement in the classroom, including teaching resources that develop students' sense of digital citizenship and digital literacies in effective and ethical ways.
4.
Appraise digital devices or systems, learning to make the most of the available technologies, adapting to new ways of doing things as technologies evolve and protecting the safety of self and others in digital environments.
5.
Research and critically select effective and engaging teaching strategies to create, manage, communicate and investigate digital literacies across disciplines.
6.
Collaboratively synthesise and develop teacher professional development resources to address the complex issues that impact on effective and ethical digital literacies.

Learning activities

You will engage in a range of activities including lectures, workshops, online learning, quizzes, and problem based learning designed to achieve and assess your performance in alignment with the subject’s intended learning outcomes. You will receive timely feedback (formal and informal) about your performance on these activities to support your learning.
