This subject includes synchronous sessions held during business hours. This means that you will attend sessions each week simultaneously with your facilitator and classmates. This subject is recommended for first-year undergraduate students.

On successful completion you will be able to:

Define the meaning of medical and anatomical words, acronyms and abbreviations used in describing diagnostic, procedural and disease processes.

Apply knowledge of medical word part definitions and human structure and function to correctly build and use medical terms in clinical settings.

Analyse human pathophysiology, procedures and treatment in recorded medical documentation.

Demonstrate speaking and spelling skills in the language/vocabulary of medicine.

Collaboratively prepare and evaluate medical documentation utilised in clinical settings.
