Subject intended learning outcomes

On successful completion you will be able to:

Demonstrate safe nursing practice that is professional, accountable, ethical and legal underpinned by a sound knowledge base in various health settings as a member of the health care team

Employ appropriate health assessment techniques that are systematic and person-centred to elicit important health data that considers, anatomical, physiological, cultural and psychosocial factors

Employ clinical reasoning to plan, implement and evaluate safe person-centred care for people across the lifespan that is evidenced based and culturally relevant

Apply knowledge of pathophysiology and diagnostic testing to individuals at end-of-life or experiencing acute or chronic diseases

Demonstrate safe use of medicines relating to storage, preparation and administration in a range of settings

Employ evidence-based practice in implementation of clinical nursing care for patients at end-of-life or experiencing acute or chronic health conditions across various health settings

Learning activities

Subject content will be delivered via blended learning, using the LMS with embedded learning material and lectures, and face to face workshops and lab classes.

Students must be admitted into one of the following courses: HB003B, HB003M, HB003S, HB003W, HB006B, HZNMDB and must have completed (NSG101D and NSG102D) or (NRS101D and NRS102D) or (NSG1NMA and PHE1IDH and NSG1ITN) or (NSG2BNT and NSG2NMR) or (NSG2TRN and NSG2NMR) and (HBS1HBA and HBS1HBB); OR Students must be admitted into one of the following courses: HB007B, HB007M, HB007S, HB007W, HZNPS and must have completed (NSG101D and NSG102D) or (NRS101D and NRS102D) or (NSG1NMA and NSG1ITN) and (HBS1HBA and HBS1HBB); OR Students must be admitted into one of the following courses: HB004B, HB004S, HB004M, HB004W, HB005B, HB005M, HB005S, HB005W and no other rule applies.
