Subject intended learning outcomes

On successful completion you will be able to:
1.
Appraise and discuss a community health care patient assessment model, and compare this with the traditional paramedic clinical assessment model
2.
Differentiate the functions of and Ambulance Paramedic and Community Paramedic and explain the contribution of these roles within a multi-disciplinary health care team. Analyse variance in these roles across a range of domestic and international models of practice.
3.
Adapt and perform a range of focused clinical assessments and interventions in a variety of unscheduled healthcare, primary care, acute care and in-patient settings.
4.
Formulate focused patient care plans utilising the principles of individual and social determinants of health, patient demographics, advanced patient medical interviews and clinical assessment/examination.
5.
Assess clinical indications for medical imaging, minor procedures, clinical procedures beyond the scope of a community/extended care paramedic and demonstrate referral systems for patients to access appropriate health service pathways.
