This subject will provide you with a theoretical and practical understanding of program design as an organised response to social problems and issues. You will develop skills in identifying research evidence to support an understanding of the causation of specific social issues (creating a theory of change). You will then be introduced to program logic and use this framework to design an evidence informed social work intervention and an outcome evaluation plan to effectively respond to a specific scenario. This knowledge will be contextualised in the contemporary human service environment. You will be also introduced to concepts such as co design, implementation, program resourcing and budgeting, and outcome evaluation.
Capstones provide students with a way of integrating and applying knowledge and skills gained throughout their course.
