Subject intended learning outcomes

On successful completion you will be able to:
1.
Critically evaluate areas of specialised speech pathology practice in a range of service contexts and in line with Speech Pathology Australia Professional Standards.
2.
Integrate current best practice models and knowledges to inform culturally responsive ways for Entry-Level speech pathologists to collaborate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities to provide safe and equitable speech pathology services.
3.
Integrate contemporary gender, cultural and linguistic frameworks to formulate assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders experienced by people from diverse populations across the lifespan.
4.
Demonstrate Entry-Level competency in the area of paediatric feeding (entry-level is defined by Speech Pathology Australia's Competency Based Occupation Standards framework).

Learning activities

You will undertake a range of learning activities through synchronous and self directed online activities,on campus workshops and seminars,and will be expected to communicate complex information through the use of a variety of means, including written assessments and an oral clinical VIVA presentation.
