Subject intended learning outcomes

On successful completion you will be able to:
1.
Critically review the impact of corporate and clinical governance models in health services in relation to person-centred care
2.
Appraise contemporary health policy issues and current legislation as they relate to safety and quality in nursing and midwifery and application of digital health
3.
Critique how organisational structure, organisational culture and contextual variables influence the nursing and midwifery environment and the coordinated approach to person centred care
4.
Critique contemporary leadership theories, and their importance to individuals, health teams and the nursing and midwifery profession

Learning activities

Subject content will be delivered via blended learning, using the LMS with embedded learning material and lectures, and face to face workshops and lab classes.

Requisite rules

Students must be admitted into one of the following courses: HB003, HB003W, HB003B, HB003S, HB003M, HB006, HB006B, HB007, HB007B, HB007W, HB007M, HB007S and must have completed (NSG1003 or HLT1IPP or MID1001) and (NSG1004 or HLT1RAE); OR Students must be admitted into one of the following courses: HB004, HB004B, HB004W, HB004M, HB004S, HB005, HB005BK, HB005FN, HB005B, HB005W, HB005M, HB005S.
