Subject intended learning outcomes

On successful completion you will be able to:

Explain the impact of corporate and clinical governance models in Australia and international health services in relation to person-centred care.

Appraise contemporary health policy issues and current legislation as they relate to safety and quality in nursing.
3.
Critique how organisational structure, organisational culture and contextual variables influence the nursing environment and the coordinated approach to person centred care.
4.
Critique contemporary nursing leadership theories, core competencies and personal capabilities and their importance to individuals, teams and the nursing profession.
5.
Develop and apply communication skills that directly relate to health information systems.
6.
Apply awareness of the transition from student to registered health care practitioner through critical self-reflection.

Learning activities

Students will participate in a variety of sumative and formative activities including online lectures, discussion with peers in online forums, reflective exercises, and analysis of existing frameworks and guidelines.
