Subject intended learning outcomes

On successful completion you will be able to:
1.
Demonstrate general knowledge of federal and state constitutional law in Australia.
2.
Explain and assess constitutional methods, including the interpretation and characterisation of a federal or state law.
3.
Advise a client on their legal position with respect to a factual situation, where the problem calls for the use of constitutional method and the application of relevant constitutional law.

Learning activities

Independent learning of general knowledge of constitutional law through a test (quiz), tutorial discussions practising the skills and thinking required, formative mid-semester assessment that develops knowledge and ability in relation to the basic concepts in the subject, and completion of exemplars dealing with problem solving (for self-assessment).
