Subject intended learning outcomes

On successful completion you will be able to:

Students will know about the latest advances in sports physiotherapy , the causes and prevention of sports injuries at the elite level.

Students will be able to demonstrate advanced handling skills in assessing and treating injured athletes.

Students will be able to devise a comprehensive management plan for return to competition for an injured elite athlete.

Students will be able to demonstrate clinical expertise and continued professional commitment to the development of sports physiotherapy practice.

Students will be able to demonstrate the use of reliable and valid outcome measures to evaluate the effectiveness of sports physiotherapy.

Students will be able to demonstrate a critical understanding of biomedical, behavioural and clinical sciences in the specialty of sports physiotherapy.
