In this subject, you will apply your knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, exercise prescription, cultural safety and professional behaviour to appropriately assess and treat patients with peripheral musculoskeletal conditions. Client-centred models of clinical reasoning will be used as a framework to plan your physiotherapy management. You will learn through a series of case studies, including clients across the lifespan and from a variety of backgrounds who present with fractures, joint replacements and peripheral soft tissue conditions.

Plan and perform a safe, effective and client-specific assessment relevant to common peripheral musculoskeletal presentations in a variety of healthcare settings.

Apply effective clinical reasoning to analyse and explain the findings of assessments to produce prioritised problem lists and client-centred goals relevant to common peripheral musculoskeletal presentations.

Devise, perform and justify safe, effective and evidence-based client-centred management plans for common peripheral musculoskeletal presentations.

Evaluate the safety and effectiveness of assessment and management plans and reflect on personal and professional opportunities for improvement.

Consistently adopt ethical and professional behaviours to ensure a safe environment for all clients and members of the interdisciplinary team.
